International Olympic Committee and International Committee of Mediterranean Games organized a webinar around the manipulation of sports competitions during the Mediterranean Games of Oran.

This important meeting brought together international experts from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the chefs de mission of the 26 NOC’s that will participate in the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games, the ICMG Secretary General Iakovos Filippousis and the President of Coordination Commission Taranto 2026 Stavri Bello.

Evangelos Alexandrakis, NOCs Contact Manager in the Olympic Movement Unit on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions, Laura Schoch and Rida Ahmed presented the IOC strategy and stressed the importance of such a project for National Olympic Committees.

The education of the young athletes by IOC will continue during the Mediterranean Games in Oran in order to learn how to spot inside information for match fixing and how to make a report of possible competition manipulation in the framework of a possible participation in the next Olympic Games.

International Committee of Mediterranean Games thanks IOC for its contribution in the common fight against all forms of cheating that threaten both the integrity and the essence of sport.
