EuroBasket 2021 MVP, Serbian Sonja Vasic-Petrovic, is the new sports director of the Olympic Committee of Serbia.

Sonja Vasic, 32, ended her playing career this summer after winning EuroBasket gold, along with an MVP trophy, and placing 4th at the Tokyo Olympics.

She was appointed sports director of the Serbian Olympic Committee (OKS) whose president is former Limoges coach Bozidar Maljkovic.

“It’s a great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to welcome a champion and an athlete like Sonja Vasić to our team. I think there is no particular reason to highlight all of Sonja’s sporting successes and achievements, but I think it is important to note that Sonja, in addition to her athletic career, has achieved excellent results during her schooling years, graduated from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Belgrade, thus holder of the Master of Management in Sports, thanks to a scholarship from FIBA ​​” said Bozidar Maljkovic, President of OKS.
