Croatia won the decisive match to defeat Novak Djokovic’s Serbia, 2-1, to advance to the Davis Cup tennis final in Madrid, Spain.

The best pair in the world formed by Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic, winners of Wimbledon and crowned Olympic champions this summer, defeated Djokovic’s pair with Filip Krajinovic: 7-5, 6-1.

World number 1 Novak Djokovic gave Serbia an equalizer by dominating Marin Cilic (ATP 30) 6-4, 6-2.

In the first match, Borna Gojo, 279th in the world, had brought Croatia the first point by beating Dusan Lajovic (ATP 33), 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
