Distria Krasniqi and Dardan Berisha were awarded the main prizes in the fifth edition of the 2020 Laureates ceremony, organized by the Kosovo Olympic Committee.

Judoka Krasniqi won the award “Female Athlete of the Year,” and basketball player Berisha “Male Athlete of the Year.”

Last year, Distria won the European bronze medal in Prague and two gold medals at the Grand Slams of Paris and Budapest.

Berisha, nominated by the Basketball Federation of Kosovo, during 2020 contributed to Kosovo’s two victories in the pre-qualifications of the 2023 World Cup. Berisha thanked KOC for the award and BFK for the support while dedicating the prize to the family.

The ceremony organized by the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOC), without the presence of guests due to the Covid 19-pandemic, was attended by the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, the interim Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Vlora Dumoshi, MP Saranda Bogujevci, as well as selected Laureates.
