The Olympic Committees of Portugal and Kosovo have expressed interest in hosting the 2027 and 2030 Mediterranean Games

The International Committee of the Mediterranean Games announces that on March 31 expired the deadline for the expressions of interest process by the National Olympic Committees for the organization of the Mediterranean Beach Games 2027 and the Mediterranean Games 2030.

The National Olympic Committee of Kosovo expressed interest in organizing the 2030 Mediterranean Games in Pristina, the country’s capital.  The National Olympic Committee of Portugal expressed interest for the Mediterranean Beach Games of 2027 in the city of Portimão and in the neighboring communities of Lagoa and Lagos.

The two National Olympic Committees must submit the candidature file until the end of June and the ICMG Evaluation Commission will organize inspectional visits to the two countries.

Finally, on September 8th in Heraklion, during the ICMG General Assembly, the elections for the designation of the Host Cities of the 21st Mediterranean and of the 4th Mediterranean Beach Games will be held.

The International Committee of Mediterranean Games welcomes with great satisfaction the interest of the two National Olympic Committees, which are the newest members of the Mediterranean Family. Their dedication contributes decisively to the further development of the event, but also to the dissemination of the ideals and values ​​of the Games throughout the Mediterranean basin.

The Bidding  Committees, the National Olympic Committees, the local bodies and ICMG experts will work closely so that the candidature files that will be presented in the General Assembly include the best possible proposals for the Athletes, the future of the Mediterranean Games and of course the legacy of the host City and Country.
