The President of the Algerian Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, hosted at the People’s Palace in Algiers, a ceremony in honor of the Algerian athletes who won medals at the Mediterranean Games of Oran from June 25 to July 6, 2022.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Salah Goudjil, the President of the National People’s Assembly (APN), Mr. Brahim Boughali, the Prime Minister, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane, the President of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhadj and Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP).

The President of the Republic awarded certificates of recognition and a financial reward to the medalists. The athletes offered President Tebboune a jersey signed by all.

Algeria won 53 medals (20 gold, 17 silver and 16 bronze) at these Games, finishing fourth in the final medal table, for the first time in history.
