The Executive Committee of Sammarinese National Olympic Committee (CONS) has appointed the Chefs de Mission for the Mediterranean Games, which will take place in Oran, Algeria from 25 June to 6 July 2022 and for the Games of the Small States, which will be held in Malta from 28 May to 3 June 2023.

Anna Lisa Ciavatta, who has been working in the CONS sports department since 2019, will lead the Sammarinese delegation in Algeria, while Mahena Abbati, who was also Vice Chef de Mission for the Games of the Small States in Montenegro in 2019, will be the head of the team in Malta.

“We are particularly happy about these two appointments,” CONS President Gian Primo Giardi said. “As we are entrusting our delegations to two professionals with undisputed skills, while we are also following the IOC and EOC recommendations to raise the female presence in key roles within the sport movement. We are proud to show that in San Marino gender equality is not just a slogan, but a goal that we constantly pursue”
