Spanish Olympic Committee President Alejandro Blanco took part in a roundtable discussion on sport, sustainable development and youth during the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP25 held in Madrid, Spain.

Discussions were joined by Director of UNITAR’s (United Nations Institute for Training and Research) Division for People and Social Inclusion Alex Mejía, and Spanish government’s High Commissioner for Agenda 2030 Cristina Gallach.

“Sport is increasingly gaining relevance in Spain,” said Blanco, who was accompanied by former Olympians Elizabeth Pinedo and José Luis Abajo. “26 million Spaniards practice sport on a regular basis. They are our great ambassadors as well as the main means of inclusion in our country.”
