A Japan Day was held at the Mimara Museum in Zagreb, ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Croatian Olympic Committee President Zlatko Mateša attended the event, which was organized by the Embassy of Japan. It represented a chance for the general public to get acquainted with the Olympic Games and try traditional Japanese costumes and customs, including the arts of ikebana and origami.

Aspiring Olympic champions Ana Lenard (karate), Tin Srbić (gymnastics) and Kristina Tomić (taekwondo) spoke about Tokyo 2020, along with their Paralympic counterparts Helena Dretar (table tennis), Pavao Jozić (table tennis) and Damir Juren (bocce).

The Croatia House in Tokyo, supported by the Croatian Embassy, was presented by NOC Assistant Secretary General for Marketing Ranko Ćetković.
