Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener, who served as President of the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) from 2011 to 2025, paid a congratulatory visit on May 13, 2026, to Prof. Dr. Veli Ozan Çakır, who was elected President of TMOK at the Extraordinary Elective General Assembly Meeting held on April 4, 2026.

During the meeting held at the Olympic House, which was also attended by former TMOK Executive Board Member Sezai Bağbaşı, discussions focused on the development of the Olympic movement in Türkiye, the future of Turkish sport, and the initiatives that TMOK plans to implement in the coming period.

To commemorate the occasion, Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener presented TMOK President Çakır with an album containing newspaper clippings and photographs from national and international competitions featuring Betül Or Diker, the first female archer of the Republic of Türkiye. The album will be exhibited at the TMOK Haluk San Olympic and Sports Library.
