The President of the Republic of Kosovo Mrs. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu welcomed the members of the ICMG Executive Bureau in the Presidential Office, namely the President Mr. Davide Tizzano, the Secretary General Mr. Iakovos Filippousis, the Vice-Presidents Mr. Mehrez Boussayene and Mr. Bernard Amsalem, the Treasurer Yiotis Ioannidis and the Honorary President Amar Addadi, on the eve of the ICMG Executive Committee meeting in Pristina.

They were joined by the President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee Mr. Ismet Krasniqi and the General Secretary Mr. Besim Aliti.

The President of the Kosovo Republic thanked the members of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games for visiting her country, she referred to the struggle for independence that Kosovo did and to the love of the Kosovo people for sports.

The ICMG President Davide Tizzano expressed his gratitude to the President for her kind invitation to the members of the Executive Bureau and referred to the Mediterranean Games which are the connecting link of the 26 countries – members of ICMG.

Τhe Secretary General Iakovos Filippousis emphasized that the Mediterranean basin, due to Ancient Olympia in Greece, is the birthplace of the Olympic Games and invited the President to visit Greece next September on the occasion of the Mediterranean Beach Games in Heraklion, Crete.

At the end of the meeting there was an exchange of presents with President Davide Tizzano offering to the President a replica of an olive tree, a symbol of peace and cooperation.
