Three months after his election, the President of CONI met, between Rome and Lausanne, with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and IOC President Kirsty Coventry.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni received the President of CONI at Palazzo Chigi, in Rome, in the presence of the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi.

It was the first meeting since Buonfiglio’s election on June 26. During the discussion, several current topics were addressed, and it was an opportunity for Buonfiglio to present to Prime Minister Meloni the main guidelines of his program for CONI’s next four-year term, emphasizing broad collaboration with the Government and its Ministries.

Ιn Lausanne, the President of CONI and Secretary General Carlo Mornati met with IOC President Kirsty Coventry, reaffirming CONI’s central role in Italian sports policy and its relations with the Government.

During the meeting, they discussed the organization of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games and the Dolomiti Valtellina 2028 Youth Olympic Games.
