on Day 7 of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium on August 12, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The French Olympic champion in swimming, Florent Manaudou, has announced that he will take part in the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games scheduled for next summer in Oran.

He made his comments to the newspaper “Ouest France”: “First of all, I said to myself that I was going to change a lot of things and I would like to compete in the Mediterranean Games, something I have never done. I don’t want to participate at the European, it’s really too late (August 11-21 in Rome). Frankly, I think I’m going to have a hard time staying focused all August in training knowing that everyone around me is on vacation”.

Florent Manaudou (32) is a specialist in freestyle events, and is the younger brother of swimmer and Olympic champion Laure Manaudou. He won four medals at the Olympics between 2012 and 2021.
