Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria at the top of the African Beach Games

Morocco finished at the top of the medal standings in the 1st edition of the African Beach Games “Sal 2019” with a total of 16 medals including 9 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze.

At the first edition of the African Beach Games, which took place on the island of Sal, Capo Verde, on the 14 – 23 June 2019, they participated 43 African countries. Morocco compete in eight sports out of 11 scheduled and these are beach handball, beach football, beach volleyball, beach tennis, kitesurfing, freestyle football, open water swimming and karate.

The athletes from Morocco demonstrated a great spirit which allowed them to keep the first place of the medal standings from the beginning of the competition.Algeria took the 2nd place with 5 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze, a total of 16 medals.

Tunisia was in the 3rd place with 3 gold , 3 silver and a bronze medal, winning 7 medals in total.
