The Commissions of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games meet by videoconference with all its members. The Technical Commission, the Medical & Anti-Doping Commission, the Commission for Cooperation and Development as well as the Coordination Commission for the Mediterranean Games “Oran 2022“ meet regularly to analyze all the aspects and the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Mediterranean sport and taking important decisions for the next steps, ensuring first of all the safety of the athletes and all those involved in the organizations and the events of the Committee.
During these meetings, with the participation of President Mr. Amar Addadi and Secretary General Mr. Iakovos Filippousis, it was also confirmed that the members of all Commissions are very attached to the common goal of keeping the sports in the Mediterranean basin in a full function, in order to support the efforts of all athletes and at the same time to improve the status and the quality of the Games.
The Technical Commission as well as the Medical & Anti-Doping Commission will continue to communicate with the Organizing Commission of Oran, so that the preparations for the 19th edition of the Games will continue without any problems in the following week. Videoconferences with the Coordination Commission for the Mediterranean Games “Oran 2022” are continuous, in the frame of the specific calendar that has been put in place to monitor the progress of the preparations for the Games.
The Cooperation and Development Commission decided to implement until October, if the conditions allow, the development program which had been drawn up for 2020.
