A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Games of Oran 2022 was held under the chairmanship  of Sid Ali Khaldi (Minister of Youth and Sports) who is also President of the Organizing Committee and in the presence of the State Secretary for elite Sport, Salima Souakri.

Four essential points concerning the sports infrastructure were adopted. Firm instructions have been given to all parties concerned that they must redouble their efforts to allow the infrastructures to be ready on time.

Strictly guidelines were given for the second and the third point of the meeting, concerning the general organization and the financial aspect, bearing in mind that the success of the Games depends mainly on the good organization.

On the financial aspect, it was noticed that they must be very careful in the management of public funds. The Organizing Committee may also try to find other sources of funding, besides the state budget, targeting money from sponsorship contracts.

The fourth point that was discussed during the meeting concerned the communication and promotion of the Games. Instructions were given to the Organizing Committee to plan an effective communication strategy in order to ensure a serious promotion of this important sporting event throughout the nation and even outside the country.

Sid Ali Khaldi in his speech stressed the importance that the government gives to this great Mediterranean meeting that Algeria is organizing for the second time in its history, after  1975, in Algiers.
