Italy dominated at the U23 Mediterranean Fencing Championships, which was successfully held in the town of Carrara.

Italy took 17 medals. The second place was taken by France with 5 medals and Greece won one. Eleven Mediterranean countries, members of the ICMG, participated in the Mediterranean Cup: Italy, Spain, Algeria, Greece, Croatia, Morocco, France, Lebanon, Slovenia, Serbia, Portugal.
