The ICMG Coordination Commission for the Mediterranean Beach Games Heraklion 2023 , led by the President of the ICMG Sports Program Commission, Mr. Mohamed Zribi, visited the city Heraklion in Crete.

The program for this two-day visit included the briefing of the ICMG members on the progress of preparations for the sporting event to be held in Crete from September 2-9, 2023.

After the briefing, the ICMG delegation went to the Karteros Beach Sports Center, which will be the main sports center of the Mediterranean Beach Games. The Hellenic Olympic Committee was represented by the Secretary General, Mr. Manolis Kolymbadis.

Following the meetings Mr. Mohamed Zribi declared: “In sports we use a phrase that goes, we have passed the bend and are now entering the home straight. This is what I see happening with the progress of the preparations here in Heraklion. After the presentation of the executives of the Organizing Committee, we are very pleased with the progress of the work made”.

Zribi asked the Organizing Committee to accelerate the pace of work so that everything is ready for the event and underlined: “The  cooperation is very good, and it would be desirable to continue at this pace , with your support and that of all all the organizations concerned”.
