The 26 Mediterranean countries that participated in the Mediterranean Beach Games Heraklion 2023 said goodbye to Crete in a modest Closing Ceremony, which took place at the main stadium of the Karteros Beach Sports Center.
The 3 rd Mediterranean Beach Games Heraklion 2023 considered a big success with high level of competition in the four host venues: the Karteros Beach Sports Center, the E.A.K.H., Ammoudara and the Marina in the port of Heraklion.

The Mediterranean flag for the 4th edition of the Mediterranean Beach Games handed over by the President of the International Committee for Mediterranean Games, Davide Tizzano, to the delegation of the Portuguese cities of Lagoa and Portimão, headed by the Mayor of Lagoa, Luis Encarnação and Teresa Mendes, Councilor for Sport in the Municipality of Portimão.

The whole idea of the Closing Ceremony was based on the culture and civilization of Crete, accompanied by Cretan music, while showing the necessary respect for the people of Greece, Libya and Morocco, who
have suffered from natural disasters. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the victims of the floods in Greece and Libya and the earthquake in Morocco.

Τhe Closing Ceremony, attended by the Executive Committee members of ICMG, members of the ICMG commissions, the local authorities and the staff of the Organising Committee.

At the end of the Ceremony the athletes of the Mediterranean countries together with the spectators participated in Cretan dances.
