Fidel Ylli has been elected as the new President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee at the General Electoral Assembly.

Ylli, Albania’s Chef de Mission at the Athens 2004 Olympics, claimed 40 of the 57 votes to secure a four-year term which is due to expire in 2024.

Erlind Pëllumbi, head of the Albanian Volleyball Federation, has been elected as vice-president of the KOKSH after securing 29 votes.

Genc Boga defeated Edlir Memaj to become the organisation’s treasurer while Gjergj Ruli, Luiza Gega, Florend Kalivopulli, Tatjana Marash, Enkelejda Caushi, Labo Capo and Endrit Hoxha were elected as members of the Executive Committee.

Izmir Smajlaj, a long jump gold medallist at the 2017 European Indoor Championships, had previously been chosen as the athlete representative on the Executive Committee.
