The President of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA), Abderrahmane Hammad, was re-elected as head of the Olympic body for the 2025-2028 Olympic mandate, during the Elective General Assembly held at the COA headquarters in Ben Aknoun (Algiers).

Μr. Hammad was the sole candidate and the Sydney 2000 Olympic bronze medalist and former Minister of Youth and Sports, received 139 yes votes, two no votes, and six invalid votes.  Of the 94 members of the COA General Assembly, 82 were present at this EGM, including 22 representatives of Olympic federations.

The members of the General Assembly will also elect the new members of the Executive Board for the next Olympic term.
