Morocco has achieved a historic milestone at the Mediterranean Games. Thanks to Souad Elhaddad’s bronze in the 800 metres, the North African country has won its 300th medal at the Mare Nostrum Games.

In the run-up to Taranto 2026, the Moroccans had won 278 medals. The final 22 needed to reach this round figure were won during these Games. Specifically, one on 22 August, four on 23 August, three on 26, 27 and 28 August, six on 30 August and the last two on 31 August.

Morocco made its debut at the Mediterranean Games at the 1959 edition in Beirut, winning its first medals on that occasion.
