Tarente 2026 – J-100 : les préparatifs passent à la vitesse supérieure
May 13, 2026The President of the Tunisian National Olympic Committee (CNOT) and Acting President of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG), Mehrez Boussayene, received at the CNOT headquarters, the Ambassador of Italy to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas.
This meeting, of both national and Mediterranean significance, provided an opportunity to discuss the excellent Tunisian-Italian relations in all fields, particularly in the areas of sport and the Olympic Movement, as well as Italy’s major role within the Mediterranean Movement and in the organization of the Mediterranean Games, especially with regard to the 20th edition, which will take place from 21 August to 3 September 2026 in Taranto.
The CNOT President praised the excellent cooperation of the Italian Embassy in Tunisia in support of Tunisian elite athletes, particularly in facilitating visa procedures, as well as its involvement in supporting Tunisia’s participation in Taranto 2026, which will include a delegation of approximately 200 athletes competing in 27 sports disciplines.
The discussions also focused on the preparations for this 20th edition of the Mediterranean Games and the significant efforts undertaken by the Italian authorities, the Organizing Committee, and the various Italian partner institutions, in close coordination with the ICMG.
Both parties also emphasized the importance of the Mediterranean Games as a unique platform for dialogue, friendship, and closer ties among the peoples of the three Mediterranean continents, within the framework of the shared role played by Tunisia and Italy in promoting the Mediterranean spirit.
The meeting took place in the presence of Hatem Marnaoui, member of the CNOT Executive Committee and Head of Mission of the Tunisian delegation for Taranto 2026.
