Theresa Zabell, former member of the Executive Committee of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games who was honored in 2017 with the Order of Merit of the ICMG, received from the King of Spain the National Sport Prize “Copa Stadium” on behalf of the Foundation Ecomar.
Theresa Zabell is a double Olympic champion in sailing and president of Ecomar, an institute active in the protection of the environment, through educational activities focused mainly on young people.
The National Sport Prize “Copa Stadium” is awarded to individuals or organizations for their contribution to the promotion of sport.
The award ceremony took place at the Royal Palace of El Pardo in the presence of King Felipe VI and his wife Letizia, the Minister of Culture and Sports of Spain José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes and the Deputy Minister of Sports and President of the Supreme Athletics Council Irene Lozano.
