Gold medalist in Tarragona, 2018 best athlete in Greece

The gold medalist in 10-meter Air Pistol at the Tarragona Mediterranean Games in June 2018 and World Champion in September of the same year, in the same event, in South Korea, Anna Korakaki from Greece, was voted as the best Greek Female Athlete of 2018, after the secret ballot of professional Greek sports journalists-members of the National Sports Press Association.

With her victory in Tarragona last June, Anna Korakaki has managed to win the gold medal at all major international competitions that include shooting events in their program. Anna has already secured, as 2018 World Champion, her participation in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Representing the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, in his capacity as Secretary General, Mr. Iakovos Filippousis made the official announcement of the result of the vote and presented the Best Female Athlete award of 2018 to Ms Korakaki.

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, who presented the Best Male Athlete Award of 2018 to Lefteris Petrounias, honoured with his presence the annual gala of the National Sports Press Association of Greece.
