The President of the Turkish Olympic Committee and IOC Member, Ugur Erdener, along with the Turkish Minister for Youth and Sport, Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, visited at the Olympic House, the IOC President Thomas Bach.

Their discussions included a follow-up on the meeting with the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held on 2 April in Istanbul. Topics raised were the Olympic Movement’s humanitarian assistance to the victims of the February earthquake and refugees living in Türkiye via the Olympic Refuge Foundation.

The geopolitical situation and the IOC’s position were also discussed. The Minister reaffirmed the position expressed by President Erdoğan of his full support for the unifying mission of the Olympic Movement and the autonomy of sport.
