The 8th edition of Olympic and Paralympic Week took place throughout France from April 2 to 6, 2024.
This year, more than 2 million pupils and students were involved throughout the country and French establishments abroad. Nearly 11,500 schools have mobilized to promote the practice of sport, the values of the Olympics and the Paralympics and to raise awareness of the benefits of sport from an early age.
The 8th edition of the Olympic and Paralympic Week was launched on Tuesday April 2 with Champions Day at the Adidas Arena, in the presence of Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Tony Estanguet, president of Paris 2024, Jackson Richardson, chef de mission of the French Olympic Team and many athletes. More than 4,000 children had the opportunity to practice different sports and para-sports and interact with athletes.
The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) participated in the “Sports festival” event, organized by the Île-de-France Region, at the Olympic nautical stadium in Vaires-sur-Marne. The President of CNOSF, David Lappartient, was present at the Île de Loisirs with the athletes of the French rowing and canoeing team and the 1,500 young people who were learning the practice of different Olympic and Paralympic disciplines.
