The Organising Committee for the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games has been formally constituted at a ceremony held in Prishtina under the direction of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

The meeting marked the official start of the organisational process for the Games, which will bring together sporting institutions, the Olympic movement and international partners in preparation for the multi-sport event.

The Albanian National Olympic Committee (KOKSH) was represented by its President, Fidel Ylli, who attended the meeting accompanied by Endrit Hoxha, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport of Albania.

Ylli reaffirmed KOKSH’s support for the Olympic Committee of Kosovo and Kosovo’s institutions throughout the preparations for the Games. He also highlighted Albania’s role in the project, particularly in relation to the water sports competitions that are scheduled to be held in Durrës, Albania.

The meeting was attended by Prishtina Mayor Përparim Rama, President of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo Ismet Krasniqi, Secretary General Besim Aliti, and Vice-Presidents Milaim Kelmendi and Arben Fetahu.

The Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games will be hosted by Kosovo, with some competitions taking place in Albania. The event is expected to involve cooperation between the two countries as preparations progress, including the organisation of competitions outside Kosovo.

The constitution of the Organising Committee represents the beginning of the formal preparation phase for the Games, with the participating institutions now moving towards the planning and delivery of the sporting programme and associated infrastructure.
