Morocco made history at the Mediterranean Beach Games “Heraklion 2023” as it won the first medals in the Games.

The two medals came rom the sport of karate beach kata. The first one by Sanae Agalmam was bronze in the female category.

The next, on Monday 11 September, belongs to Salah Eddine El Mansoury who lost in the final to Spain’s Raul Martin Romero, taking the silver medal.

Both athletes dedicated the medals to the victims of the Marrakesh earthquake.

Morocco did get any medal in the previous Mediterranean Beach Games, in Pescara 2015 and Patras 2019.
