The members of the ICMG Coordination Commission “Heraklion 2023”  visited the beach sports facilities of Heraklion, Crete where, in September next, the 3rd Mediterranean Beach Games “Heraklion 2023” will be held.

That was the 3rd inspection to the island and during the three-day visit to Heraklion, the Coordination Commission met with the President of the Organizing Committee, Nikos Dabakakis, the Executive Director, Nikos Provia and the Secretary General of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Manolis Kolymbadis.

The Master Plan of the Games was presented to the ICMG members as well as the construction progress of the facilities. The representatives of the Mediterranean Family also met with the Greek Deputy Minister of Sports, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis.

The ICMG Coordination Commission President, General Souhail Khoury, stated that he was particularly satisfied with the progress of the works and with the modern facilities in Karteros, as well as with the progress of the preparation in important aspects of the organization of the Games.

The President of the ICMG Sports Program Commission Mr. Mohamed Zribi, added that “the program of the Games in Heraklion is excellent” and expressed his belief that “they will be the most successful Mediterranean Beach Games!”

It was also agreed during the meetings that the Chef de Mission seminar will be held on the first days of next June.
