The 2025 Mediterranean Triathlon Championships, the first official test event of the XX Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026, concluded in Taranto with great satisfaction. This strategic event marked a crucial step in the preparation of the entire organizational structure, successfully testing personnel, equipment, infrastructure, and operational procedures.

The event served as a full-scale test of the entire race route planned for the Triathlon at the Games — a fascinating course that passes through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks: from the Mar Piccolo to the Aragonese Castle, from the San Francesco di Paola Bridge to the MARTA Museum, and along Via Cesare Battisti, the Maritime Military Arsenal, and the Vittorio Emanuele III Seafront.

Throughout the competition, the setup requirements were confirmed, with particular attention given to the transition areas and overall logistics. Feedback from athletes and federations was extremely positive. The course was described as technical, captivating, and highly competitive — offering a true sporting experience immersed in the beauty of Taranto.

The experience gained from this test event will be vital in refining the organization ahead of the 2026 Games, with the shared goal of delivering an event worthy of the values and spirit of the Mediterranean Games — for athletes, delegations, and the public alike.
