Olympic Day was celebrated at the birthplace of the Olympic Games, in Ancient Olympia. Hundreds of runners from 80 countries around the world joined the Olympic Day Run, which started from the sacred grounds of Ancient Olympia and passed through historic landscapes.

The event was organised by the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki, along with the International Olympic Academy (IOA), the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the Municipality of Ancient Olympia.

Participants included athletes, students, Olympic fans and visitors from around the globe.
