May 11, 2026The newly elected President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, Dejan Tomašević, paid his first official visit to the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (MOC).
He was welcomed by MOC President Dušan Simonović, Member of the Executive Board of the Olympic Committee of Serbia Adnan Bajramović, as well as Maja Peković, Deputy Secretary General of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.
During the discussions, it was highlighted that the National Olympic Committees of Montenegro and Serbia are connected by nearly two decades of successful cooperation, built on mutual respect, trust, and a shared understanding of the role that National Olympic Committees play in the development of sport and the preservation of Olympic values.
The two Presidents, Simonović and Tomašević, agreed on their willingness to further strengthen relations, particularly through the exchange of knowledge and experience, capacity building, the development of programmes of mutual interest, and cooperation at both regional and international levels.
It was particularly emphasised that the two Olympic Committees will continue to support each other on important issues concerning the Olympic Movement, athletes, and sports organisations.
“This first visit represents an important step in a partnership that we have been building over the years with great care and mutual respect. Our two Olympic Committees share the same vision for the development of sport, and I am confident that the joint work ahead of us — from programmes dedicated to athletes to our shared presence on the international stage — will further strengthen the friendship and trust between our organisations,” said Dušan Simonović, President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.
