“The Mediterranean Games of Taranto will provide the prospect of growth in this community which is suffering so much. They will be an integral part of the Taranto shipyards”, declared the Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conti, referring to the Games which will take place in Taranto in 2026.

“A series of initiatives” – he added on the sidelines of the ceremony of the Golden Collars held at CONI – “that we are developing to revive the suffering community which we have somehow neglected in the recent decades. Now is the time for a relaunch and  the Games will be a very important event in order to give a signal of state attention to Taranto through sport “.
