Τhe President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides handed over the flag of Cyprus to the country’s Olympic Team that will represent Cyprus at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The handover ceremony took place during the event for the presentation of the Cyprus Olympic Team at the Olympic House, in Nicosia.

So far, the Cypriot Olympic team has eleven members: Pavlos Kontidis (ILCA7/Sailing), Denis Tarantin (Kite/Sailing), Marilena Makri (ILCA6/Sailing), Natasa Lappa (IQFoil/Sailing), Andri Christoforou (Road Cycling / Cycling), Marios Georgiou (Αrtistic Gymnastics), Vera Tougolukova (Rhythmic Gymnastics), Sofia Asvesta (Judo/ -52Kg), Alexandros Tofalidis (Fencing), Elena Koulichenko (High Jump/Athletics) and Konstantina Nikolaou ( Shooting/Skeet).

Six of the 11 athletes are participating for a first time in the Olympic Games.

In the event were also present, the President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee Giorgos Chrysostomou and the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the European Olympic Committees Spyros Capralos.
