On 21 October, the COE held the first meeting of its Sports Communication Observatory, set up to provide a permanent forum for dialogue, analysis and collaboration between the COE and the main sports media bodies in Spain.

The creation of this Observatory had been announced at the Forum on Communication and Olympic Sport, which the COE organised in 2025.

The aim of this Observatory is to establish a lightweight yet strategic structure that enables the COE to listen to the media, better understand their needs and develop new initiatives with them, to promote the Olympic narrative, increase the visibility of sport beyond the Olympic Games, and strengthen its place both in the media landscape and within society.
