Olympic champion Distria Krasniqi and European champion Akil Gjakova, both judoka, have been named “Female Athlete of the Year” and “Male Athlete of the Year”, respectively, during the “Laureates of 2021” ceremony (see photo), organised in Pristina.

The ceremony was attended by the Kosovo Olympic Committee President, Ismet Krasniqi, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, and the President of the Albanian NOC, Fidel Ylli.

Athletes, representatives of municipalities and sponsors were also in attendance, along with representatives of sports federations, who had the opportunity to present the other awards with members of the NOC Executive Board and other guests.

For the sixth time in a row, Driton Kuka took the trophy for the “Best Coach of the Year 2021”.
