The Secretary General of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG), Iakovos Filippousis, met with HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco during the boules competitions at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games.

Prince Albert travelled to Taranto to attend the Games and follow the boules event, reaffirming his long-standing commitment to the Mediterranean sports movement. During their meeting, Filippousis warmly welcomed the Prince and expressed his gratitude for his presence at the Games.

The ICMG Secretary General thanked Prince Albert II not only for visiting Taranto 2026, but also for his unwavering support of the Mediterranean Games over the years. He highlighted the Prince’s consistent presence at successive editions of the Games and his enduring contribution to promoting the values of friendship, solidarity and cooperation among the peoples of the Mediterranean region.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the excellent relationship between the Principality of Monaco and the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, as well as their shared dedication to the development of sport throughout the Mediterranean region.
