As part of the many initiatives accompanying the XX Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026, the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) has launched the Mediterranean Young Ambassadors (MYA) programme, aimed at promoting the values of Olympism and strengthening ties among young people across the Mediterranean region.

The young ambassadors from countries of the southern Mediterranean shore were selected through a dedicated application process.

Living at the heart of the Mediterranean Games Village aboard the Aroya ship, the ambassadors engage with athletes and delegations, encouraging dialogue, friendship and cultural exchange while promoting the values of respect, solidarity and peaceful coexistence.

During their stay in Taranto, the young ambassadors welcomed ICMG 1^st Vice President and Acting President Mehrez Boussayene, who praised their commitment and encouraged them to continue serving as role models and promoters of Olympic and Mediterranean values. He highlighted the important role young people play in shaping the future of the Mediterranean sports movement and strengthening understanding among nations.
