The President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Davor Komšić signed a management contract with newly elected Secretary General Antonio Tomić, who has officially assumed leadership of the Committee’s professional service.

Komšić noticed the importance of continuous development and adapting to the modern needs of the sports system.

“As is common practice in Olympic institutions worldwide, and as we observe in neighboring countries, there is occasionally a need for personnel renewal. Modernization, flexibility and system self‑sustainability must be the focus of the Olympic Committee of BiH’s future work. I congratulate the new Secretary General on his election and wish him success. I also wish to thank the outgoing Secretary General, Mr. Said Fazlagić, who over the past three terms initiated numerous processes and laid solid foundations for further improvement,” Komšić said.

Secretary General Tomić thanked the Committee for its trust and outlined his priorities: improving institutional performance, strengthening support for Bosnian and Herzegovinian sport, and ensuring efficient, lawful and timely operations.

“Thank you for the trust. I am confident we will find the best solutions together and apply good practices that will contribute to the future functioning of the Olympic Committee of BiH. I am ready to work in accordance with the plans, decisions and guidelines of the Committee’s bodies and to organize efficient professional service operations ensuring quality, timeliness and lawfulness. I extend special thanks to the outgoing Secretary General, Mr. Said Fazlagić, for his many years of dedicated work. I am convinced I am taking over an orderly and stable institution that provides a good basis for further development. My key goals will be to increase the number of Bosnia and Herzegovina athletes and teams at the Olympic Games and other major multi‑sport events and to create conditions for winning Olympic medals,” Tomić said.

The appointment marks a new phase for the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a focus on modernization, strengthening institutional capacity, and improving conditions for the development of sport and elite performance on the international stage.
