The 2nd Summit of Sports Federations was held in Portugal, under the auspices of the National Olympic Committee and the National Paralympic Committee.
The Summit was held at the Multiusos Pavilion in Odivelas with audience but also through a videoconference, with a large participation of the sports federations and unanimously approved the proposal entitled “Together for Sport”.
The approved text has as fundamental issues, the resumption of the Federations sports activities respecting the rules of safety, the viability of the sports model and the social reinforcement of sports. It also includes proposals for sports tourism, the tax system and the economic and budgetary impact of the pandemic and will be forwarded to the Portuguese government.
In his opening speech, the President of the Portuguese Olympic Committee, José Manuel Constantino, stressed that sport cannot be excluded from the support of the government to the various sectors of society due to the Covid-19.
