HSH Prince Albert of Monaco traveled to Patras, Greece, to live the atmosphere and the experience of the Mediterranean Beach Games.
He attended the Opening Ceremony on 25August with the ICMG President Amar Addadi and the Secretary General Iakovos Filippoussis. The next day, he visited the “Hera” venue where he watched Monaco’s rowing beach sprint race against Greece and he expressed his opinion about Greece: “I love Greece. I visit the country very often and I admire its history, its culture and its people, who are very hospitable. Patra is a beautiful city. I love the food here, as well as the beaches and the picturesque restaurants by the sea, the smells and the helpful people.”
Regarding the Rowing Beach Sprint, Prince Albert said: “The weather is ideal, and certainly the sun of Greece gives energy to the athletes. I enjoyed the Women’s Doubles race in a very beautiful venue. I wish good luck to all athletes, and lots of strength to everyone working here to achieve good results. Thank you all for your hospitality.”
Afterwards he watched beach tennis games and had dinner with the athletes from his country. Before leaving Greece, expressed his satisfaction for the quality of the Mediterranean Beach Games of Patras.
