MEDITERRANEAN GAMES “MERSIN 2013”

Following the election of Mersin (Turkiye) as the host city of the Mediterranean Games, 2013, the 4th of March 2011 witnessed the signing of the contract between CIJM [represented by President Amar Addadi] and the Turkish Authorities [represented by Governor Hasan Basri Guzeloglu, Mayor Macit Ozcan, Director General Youth and Sports Yunus Akgul, and NOC Secretary General Nese Gundogan] followed by the symbolic handing over of the CIJM flag to the City of Mersin.  Mersin 2013 will undoubtedly further improve Mersin’s sports infrastructure as well as increase the population’s interest in sport.  The Coordination Commission held its first meeting in Mersin and was satisfied with its visit to the various sports venues as well as the University Campus where the Med Village will be situated and already started building.  Mersin should be able to host excellent Games as these are supported by national, regional and local authorities, and the enthusiastic people of Mersin.
