Algeria has reached the 300-medal mark at the Mediterranean Games. This historic milestone was achieved thanks to Oussama Laribi’s bronze medal in the -65kg freestyle wrestling event.

Before Taranto 2026, the Algerians had won 293 medals at the Mediterranean Games. The final seven medals needed to reach 300 were won during the first three days of competition at Taranto 2026. One on 22 August, five on 23 August, with the final medal coming on 24 August.

Algeria’s first medal at the Mediterranean Games was won on its debut, at the fifth edition in Tunis in 1967. And since then, the Algerian delegation has always been on the podium at every edition.
