As part of its visit to Greece, a delegation of the Olympic Committee of Serbia met in Athens with the Secretary General of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, Iakovos Filippousis.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss further strengthening cooperation within the Mediterranean sports family, the importance of the upcoming Mediterranean Games, as well as the forthcoming General Assembly, which will bring together representatives of National Olympic Committees and relevant sports institutions from Mediterranean countries.

Representatives of the Olympic Committee of Serbia emphasized the significance of the Mediterranean Games for the development of athletes, particularly young competitors, as well as for enhancing international cooperation, exchanging experiences, and promoting Olympic values.

During the meeting, the importance of continuous communication among National Olympic Committees, organizational bodies, and international sports institutions was highlighted, with the aim of creating the best possible conditions for athletes and strengthening the role of sport as a bridge connecting nations.

The visit to Greece represents another step toward advancing sports diplomacy and further strengthening the Olympic Committee of Serbia’s relations with its partners within the international Olympic and Mediterranean sports movement.
