The French National Olympic and Sports Committee and the Australian Olympic Committee signed, on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committees of Oceania (ONOC) which took place in Brisbane a memorandum of understanding, agreeing to collaborate on the development of the international Olympic sports movement and to discuss current issues of common interest.
Brigitte Henriques, President of the CNOSF, and Ian Chesterman, President of the AOC, have agreed to work together on many subjects such as the fight against doping and abuse in sport, the use of sport as a tool for health and well being, the best practices in the field of marketing strategy and the organization of major sporting events.
This memorandum of understanding will also make it possible to promote exchanges on the subject of training between French and Australian sports and to support innovative high-performance programs, particularly in sports science research.
Joint work has already been initiated on a program to link French and Australian schools. This will be operational before the Paris 2024 Games.
