During the ordinary General Assembly of the ICMG held on October 13th, 2017, in Tarragona, Spain, Host City of the XVIII Mediterranean Games of 2018, the members of the General Assembly unanimously accepted Portugal as the 26th member of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games. The President of the NOC of Portugal, Mr. José Manuel Constantino, expressed his great enthusiasm for joining the ICMG and having the opportunity to participate in the next Mediterranean Games.
