November 27, 2025Thirty-two athletes from ten different sports signed their contracts for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic scholarships.
The contracts were signed by the athletes, the President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOC), Ismet Krasniqi, and representatives of the federations.
Congratulating the athletes on receiving the scholarships, President Krasniqi emphasized that the KOC’s support for athletes is increasing every year, noting that this time they have broken the record in terms of both the number of Olympic scholarship recipients and the amount of financial support.
In total, the support amounts to 9,000 dollars per month, secured through revenues from the IOC’s Olympic Solidarity, along with an additional 7,000 euros from the KOC’s own revenues.
Based on their results to date and their potential, the athletes have been divided into three groups. The selection and grouping were carried out by the Sports Commission, while the final decision was made by the KOC Executive Board.

The list is headed by double Olympic medalist Distria Krasniqi, who will receive 1,350 dollars per month, followed by bronze medalist Laura Fazliu with 1,250, Akil Gjakova with 1,100, and Donjeta Sadiku with 1,000. All of them belong to the first group.
Six other athletes are in the second group, receiving support of 650 dollars per month, while 22 other athletes are in the third group, with support of 350 euros.
In addition to scholarship support, the athletes are also supported through the coverage of expenses for training and preparation abroad.
