The International Committee of the Mediterranean Games will award the ICMG Order of Merit, the highest distinction conferred by the organization, to the internationally renowned graph designer Mr. Boris Ljubičić (CRO), creator of the timeless symbol of the Mediterranean Games.

The ceremonial gala will be held on June 29, 2025, in Split, the host city of the 1979 emblematic edition of the Mediterranean Games which has contributed significantly to the legacy of the ICMG and of the Mediterranean Games.

Mr. Ljubičić designed the ICMG logo in 1979, on the occasion of the 8th edition of the Mediterranean Games, held in Split. His visionary concept encapsulated the essence of Mediterranean unity, cultural richness, athletic excellence, and regional pride.

Over the decades, his emblem has become much more than a visual identity; it is a powerful ambassador for the Mediterranean Games—symbolizing cooperation, harmony, and a shared heritage among the nations of our region. The ICMG logo, with its elegant simplicity and enduring meaning, continues to resonate across generations and borders.

This distinction is not only a gesture of recognition for Mr. Ljubičić’s exceptional and internationally recognized work in graphic design, but also a reaffirmation of the commitment of the ICMG to honoring excellence in all its forms—sport, culture, and design.
