
CONI’s Golden Collar Awarded to Diana Bacosi
April 16, 2025The Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA) held its first executive bureau meeting on Wednesday, April 9, under the presidency of Mr. Abderrahmane Hammad for the 2025–2028 term, at the COA headquarters in Ben Aknoun, Algiers. This meeting is crucial to launch the COA’s activities and strategies for the coming years, especially in preparation for major international sporting events such as the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The COA executive bureau is composed of 15 members, including eight representatives from Olympic federations, four from non-Olympic federations, and three female representatives. Members of the executive bureau include prominent figures from Algerian sports, such as Nadira Feriel Salhi for fencing, Yazid Benalloua for taekwondo, and Abdelkader Abbas, President of the Algerian Boxing Federation.
During this meeting, Mr. Hammad presented a roadmap titled “Together, to Achieve Excellence,” which is based on the values of the Olympic Charter, responsibility, good governance, and a new vision for the administrative and financial management of the COA. This strategy aims to strengthen Algerian sports performance and improve the management of COA resources.
